About Louise

Louise Green was born in 1969 in the Cotswolds, England. She grew up on a farm, turning old sheds into playhouses and building forest shelters. Later, in her teens, attempted and failed to complete a barn conversion. Never one to be defeated wanting a pine bed, she couldn’t afford, she bought the wood and built her own.

Louise has always been a writer, journaling, short fiction, technical manuals, training courses and website content. She is currently a freelance editor and technical writer of blog posts, fictional short stories, and business manuals. She lives in Canmore, AB, and has now focused her talent on writing about her adventures in the woods of British Columbia.

Her interest in Canada was kindled in third grade by Miss Giddens her Canadian exchange teacher. Holding onto that love of Canada, she moved to the Canadian Rockies in 2003 and took almost 20 years to achieve her dream of owning a little piece of forest.

Louise learns what she needs from YouTube and finds inspiration for homesteading, independence and wild forest living, by binge-watching TV shows like Alone, Homestead Rescue and Off Grid Living. In her spare time, she grows vegetables, bakes sourdough bread and reads romance, adventure and fantasy fiction novels.

Ms. Green’s five-star debut book “Little Haven in the Woods” is about realizing her lifelong dream to own land and her challenging adventure of turning it into a home. How, with no construction experience, no professional help, a limited budget and cabin plans she bought from Etsy, she is building a grown-up playhouse for full-time living in the woods.
