THE OUTHOUSE PROJECT
With the trailer established on site, water tanks full we could use the bathroom in the trailer for a limited amount of time. Once the black and grey water tanks became full it would be necessary to haul the trailer to a sani-dump station to empty them out. Being so remote this was not something we wanted to do very often. It was time to build our first structure, our first step towards independent living on the land. The outhouse. We had been watching some informational video and had drawn up a basic plan.
Without any powered equipment we were left with the painful and slow process of digging and constructing by hand.
You can read about the full details of building the outhouse in my book Little Haven in the Woods. These photos a just a few of the images to accompany our story.
